Keeping Self and Soul Whole Through Divorce

You’re bumping along and life is pretty good.

Well, ok anyway.

The relationship could be better but you figure it’s just one of those times that couples go through. You’ll wade through this patch and things will get better…

But they don’t…

And then it’s over.

Your partner has asked you for a divorce, says they want out, or maybe they have split and you have been served with divorce papers.

What the heck just happened?

Maybe that’s not your scenario – perhaps you have been the one teetering on the edge and have finally made the decision that it is time to move on and pursue the process of divorce.

It really doesn’t matter which scenario is yours because either way your self-esteem takes a hit. Whether you are the one rejected or you are the one taking action there are a lot of changes ahead and the uncertainty takes a toll.

I have seen how life changes such as these affect my clients. They struggle, doubt and question, all the while putting one foot in front of the other. It’s exhausting. For our work together we focus on building the self into a person that can navigate through the tumult and keep self safe and whole.

What my clients also need however, is information in some very specific areas – legal and financial. Not my forte! This called for collaboration among friends.

As a result, a legal friend, a financial friend and I decided to put together a seminar where a person could get some answers in a safe place. It’s called The Wise Woman’s Guide to Divorce. It is happening on Saturday, May 2, 2015 in The Woodlands. We will discuss your legal rights and responsibilities, then focus on your financial picture and finally wrap things up with a session on keeping your heart and soul together through this process. The whole day is $129 but if you register by April 18th it is $99. It includes lunch and a drawing for a lovely gift.

If you would like more information and seminar details, please call me at 979-739-7143.

Going through these events is always emotional but having knowledge and tools with which to make great decisions calms the waters and gives you the security of knowing you’re working from strength.

Peace and Blessings,

Robin
